Apple just announced on the WebKit blog, that Safari 18 on Apple Vision PRO has support for immersive-vr WebXR sessions. WebXR is now enabled by default.
Safari 18 for visionOS 2 beta adds support for WebXR. Now you can create fully immersive experiences and deliver them on the web to people using Apple Vision Pro. Safari on visionOS 2 beta supports immersive-vr sessions. WebXR scenes are displayed using hardware-accelerated graphics driven by WebGL.
While WebXR was already supported in Safari previously, their support was still behind a feature flag.
Safari’s implementation of the WebXR Device API includes the transient-pointer specification, which gives secure access to gaze-based pointer interaction.
